Social and Economic Survey Research Institute
Social and Economic Survey Research Institute - SESRI
SESRI is an academic survey research institute established by Qatar University in 2008. It undertakes original and groundbreaking surveys of citizens and residents of Qatar and the region via telephone and face-to-face interviews, amassing a diverse collection of data unparalleled in the region. SESRI aims to provide sound and reliable data to guide policy formulation, priority-setting, and evidence-based planning in the social, health, and economic sectors. Areas of study include education, family structure, gender, health, labor and employment, politics, regional integration, impact of social and traditional media, and survey methodology.
SESRI’s Policy Unit complements the Institute’s research efforts by synthesizing, probing more deeply, and analyzing from a different perspective, the Institute’s expansive inventory of individual-level survey data. In doing so the Unit offers previously-unavailable policy insights for use by opinion leaders, government officials, policymakers, journalists, the public, and the international community.
