QUPlacer Math Test
The QUPlacer Math Test is a computerbased standardized test developed by Qatar University Testing Center in collaboration with the Foundation Program Department of Mathematics. The QUPlacer Math Test is composed of two sections. Section 1 tests the content of the Elementary Algebra (MATH021) and section 2 tests the content of the PreCalculus (MATHP100) courses. Each section of the test contains 33 questions, for a total of 66 questions. Specifically, the test asks questions of the following content objectives.
Section 1: Elementary Algebra

Transform basic and simple statements into algebraic expressions.
Perform all types of arithmetic operations on real numbers.
Perform basic operations on polynomials, rational expressions, and radicals.
Solve linear, quadratic, rational and radical equations.
Solve equations and inequalities involving absolute value.
Demonstrate the use of graphing techniques for linear equations and inequalities.
Section 2: PreCalculus

Recognize the basic functions and their graphs.
Distinguish exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions and their graphs.
Solve trigonometric equations using trigonometric identities.
Find exact values of trigonometric functions using doubleangle & halfangle formulas.
Solve equations involving exponential and logarithms.
The total time allowed for the test is 2 hours. The test is only available in English. The Center provides a calculator (Casio Fx570ES Plus or similar model) for each student.
